I was approved for both, at 750 experian score (7.5k each CL). I did both applications at the same time.

yes, obviously!

If you have decent spend on the card, they'll offer enough TYP points for it to make sense to renew the card.

Got offered 20k points once (cuz I had put upwards on $20k spend on the card)

So after spending the required amount, what if Citi decides to play hard ball and asks you for proof of 50k points offer, how would you provide this info to them?

You wouldn't be able to so that's the risk you have to take for this deal, unfortunately. Hopefully, they'll honor it for everyone.. fwiw, didn't have any problems last year with the Citi Dividend promo but that one did show the promo rewards and terms.

when you sign up for online access after you receive your card , send them an email from within the online account . Ask them when would you receive the promised 50 k points. let them respond back with 2.5 requirement . This way you will have it documented

If you mean, "Can I get a check and apply it to my brother's mortgage," then maybe (and that certainly wouldn't run afowl of the law). The mortgage company shouldn't care who wrote the check, so long as it is made out to them. Besides, the transfer check probably won't even mention your name (it'd be from Citi and to his Bank).

Bare in mind, most CC's charge a 3% transaction fee on their "0%" balance transfers. I didn't check on this deal, but I've never seen an offer that didn't. Also, you might not get the points for transfers, it could only be for purchases.

You'd be better off going the Amazon Payments route, if you're able to. It'd be free and get you the points.
