I think yours should go through. For me I got the MC approved and Visa applied 5 min later, that was declined.

Got the 50K points with spending 2.5K within three months promo back in January. Got the card but did not get to activate the card for 6 months because I was out of the country. I called them in July and checked whether the promo is still valid after 6 months on an unactivated card. CSR said yes definitely and blah blah blah. So I charged $2500 on the card but they will not give me the points. FYI

So I have the preferred version that was bumped down like years ago from the premier version. Can I cancel and then reapply to the premier version?

Called about the pending application, but was only given the information about the card that I was approved for. Didn't want to ask about the other card since I think it would alert them to what I did, and I'd get denied for sure.
so now i guess i will wait to see what happens with the second application. even if that gets denied, at least i'm approved for one.

I got instant approval for both cards. My credit score is 760 Experian credit score.

$50 for each authorized user. However, the annual authorized user fee is waived for the first 12 months.

So, unless you are okay with the fee you would need to cancel before the first year is up, or possibly contact them and see if they'll wave the fee when it comes due on the second year.

If you are getting FHA mortgage it wont matter one bit, your either approved or not approved, everyone gets the same rate. If you get conventional loan, I wouldn't risk it. If a website tells you your score is 775, the bank will tell you its 760 or so. Your interest rate is dependent on your credit score for conventional loans and I doubt your credit score will go much higher than 775 so dont risk it. Credit card offers will always be around, your credit pull during a mortgage loan is done once could add $1,000s of dollars of added interest to your mortgage. But if you have less than 20% down and are going FHA, then it wont matter at all in relation to your credit score.

I highly doubt they will deny the approved card after they approved it. They don't give a hoot about you applying for 2 cards. Call a 2nd time about the other card. I doubt it the 2nd goes through unless you call. The last 5 credit cards I applied for I had to call, and I would of been denied if I didnt. Approved for every one.

im a first time home buyer. will likely be going FHA. i will be putting down less than 20% likely. thanks for the info.

If you can, do everything you can to put down the 20%. They hit you hard with PMI (missed payment insurance) if you dont have 20%. A loan of 175k will be hit with 3k upfront and $175/mo in PMI if you dont have 20%. That is nearly $16k in the first 6 years going towards insurance in case you miss a payment which wouldnt be required if you have 20% down. Plus with a 775 credit score you will get best rates, so no sense in FHA if you can somehow get the funds together.
