Great price, thinking about getting it but wondering if anybody can help me. I have both PC and Mac. I'm using this to put movies and photos then playing back on both. It says it might need to be reformatted for Mac use. This might be a dumb question but do I need to do something to be compatible for both systems? I'm guessing its just data files but I know Macs does have compatibility issues. Thanks.

If you run windows 7 and osx 10.6.5+, then you can format it as exFAT and not have any problem with compatibility or file size limitation

Me neither. Normally I'd consider it, but now after the tax, I don't spend like i used to at Amazon anymore. Whatever Brown thinks the money California will get, not gonna happen.
Soapbox /end.

I just bought the 2tB from Target for $75....though I prefer Western Digital models better.

Amazon also has the 1TB for $85+FSSS - pretty good deal for those that don't need/want to spend more for 3TB.

that's $85/TB though

this is like $42/TB lol, buying the 1TB version is so not a good deal, you should get 2TB for that

Agree - although some people (like me) will never need 3TB, so buying the 1TB unit is $40 more in my pocket! I've yet to see a 2TB Seagate Backup Plus for anywhere near $100, let alone $85...but I can wait Wink
