Same one i got from staples about 5 months ago for $100..fast cpu but needs upgrade ram to 4gb for smoother performance and a low profile video card if you consider htpc..

What a blatantly wrong generalization. I will never use a laptop as a primary machine. Find a laptop with a 22"+ screen, more than 1 hard drive, or an actual mouse.

Desktop, smartphone, laptop in that order of usage for me.

Let me guess, you have either an Acer, HP, or Apple laptop.

Neither are required just for a normal computer.
Maybe the video card if you find GPU based tasks stutter, but not the SSD.

What do you mean by "new"? This processor can be paired with a mid range Radeon 6xxx graphics card, if forum posts are believable. The Radeon 6xxx cards can play DirectX 11 games. I read that games made for quad core cpus will not work obviously, but most other games will.

This computer has Win 7 32bit, meaning you can't install more than 4 GB of RAM (around 3.5 GB will actually be usable, and possibly less than 3.5GB if your GPU also has a lot of RAM).

Anybody know the SATA data transfer speed of this? Is it 3.0 G/s? I'm looking to buy a SSD for it, any recommendations? Thanks all.
