You park your car in an open area of a mall parking lot (plenty of open spots around, no vehicles parked on either side for 3 or 4 spaces).

A guy and his family in an SUV suddenly parks right beside you on the driver's side, even though there are a ton of open spots all around.

You're still in the car, talking to your wife about this fact and look over to the SUV, make eye contact with the guy's father who's sitting in the passenger side of the SUV.

You'd think that common sense would dictate that he would either wait for you to get out, or open his door slowly to ensure not to hit your car as he exits.

But...

Yep, you guessed it. He flings his door open, hits your driver's door, gets out, closes his door and proceeds to walk away with his family.

What do you do?

I was in shock for a couple of seconds, incredulous that someone could be that disrespectful.
I got out and checked my car for scratches or dents (luckily there weren't any) and then asked the father WTF?

All he kept saying was, "there's no damage, there's no damage..."

I was stunned at his response and didn't know whether or not to laugh or crack him in the head right there and then say, "there's no damage, there's no damage" right back.

Ultimately, I just asked him not to be so disrespectful of other people's property, waited for them to walk away, and moved my car to another parking spot away from them.

Simply amazing how some people can be so inconsiderate, defies any type of rational logic.

Terrible advice. It's not like it will ONLY cost you $500 to have another vehicle. Even if it did, what was the point of buying a nice new car if you're going to be afraid to drive it?

Fine have fun driving your brand new car, with gawdy plastic door keepers on it.
When you park badly, i'll roll up in my S-10 and park in my space (correctly) and see if I care if you door ding me.

I will, It's 7 years old and I have 26k on it. Next time I take it out, I'll make sure I don't park next to you and your disposable car w/ the plastic door protectors and the scratches on the doors.

UPDATE: I just installed these on my Hummer.

They work great. I parked along some cars and sure enough some jerkoffs literally parked 13 inches from my driver side door. Guess what!? Same exact thing on my passenger side. What a bunch of bafoons. So glad that I left my sunroof/moonroof open. I climbed the black stallion and entered through her top. Boy she's a beaut. Me and my 3 boys buckled up an realized that we should teach these guys a lesson.

With our new door guards protecting the black stallion, we played wackamole with her doors. Like there was a whale of a woman inside the vehicle and we had to escape. After one of my sons were exhausted, we decided it was enough. So as I backed out, I was sure to leave a gift on their windshields.

A couple nights back I had ordered some zoogue phone cases, left them in the car and they melted. Well it was so hot again and it was liquid in our cupholders. We dumped the liquid over their doorhandles by the keyhole. Good luck getting in from those doors.

I also had two tubs of dynatize proteins and creatine from the FITRx and puritans pride deal. We poured it all over their cars and then spilled water on top of that to crust it.

The ladies were mirin.
