I was in my parked car in a Target parking lot once and an older couple (late 60's) pulls up next to me in an old Buick. Her husband got out of the passenger side and his door slammed into my door, shook my car. He didn't give me or my car door one look. As he walked into the store I rolled down my window to politely let the woman know what her husband did. She snapped back at me real hatefully and said she knows what he did and then unloaded on me in full-on tears about how she just found out her husband has been cheating on her...? She was asking all kinds of rhetorical questions, "What about our grown children?", "I'm old, what do I do?", hitting the steering wheel etc. Maybe she was lying, idk. Her husband left a big ol' dent in my car either way. People's kids are also horrible culprits when it comes to damaging other cars with their doors. My office overlooks a retail parking lot and I see kids doing damage often by recklessly flinging open their doors. |

Young kids is no excuse! You need to teach them to hold onto the door and be very careful not to ding anyone else's cars, that lesson should be thrown in there at the same time you're teaching them to look both ways before crossing a street, not to go anywhere with a stranger, and the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touching! $500 beater is no answer for me either, because I do have a car worth only $500, but it's in decent shape except for a few door dings people gave me that have been on it for over a decade and looking at them still infuriates me. Forget politics, nothing pisses me off like people who ding others' cars. If it were up to me, dinging someone's car would be an offense punishable by jail time. |

I would have kicked his A#$, and said you were wrong. There seems to some damage, but none to my door. |

For all the people trolling and saying this is a useless deal:
I've worked in DC for the better part of my career and much of that has required me to park in a valet-only lot. Those guys don't give a shit about your car, they're there to pack the cars in like sardine cans, as quickly as possible. That means they're slamming your doors open into walls, other cars, poles, concrete, etc. My car has seen the effects of that. Would this product have been beneficial for me? Yes. Just cause you have no use for the product, does that make it useless for everyone? Use your brain. |

![]() Fine have fun driving your brand new car, with gawdy plastic door keepers on it. When you park badly, i'll roll up in my S-10 and park in my space (correctly) and see if I care if you door ding me. COMPLETE FREEDOM Here's another choice bit of advice, everyone needs 2 cars. |

UPDATE: I just installed these on my Hummer.
They work great. I parked along some cars and sure enough some jerkoffs literally parked 13 inches from my driver side door. Guess what!? Same exact thing on my passenger side. What a bunch of bafoons. So glad that I left my sunroof/moonroof open. I climbed the black stallion and entered through her top. Boy she's a beaut. Me and my 3 boys buckled up an realized that we should teach these guys a lesson. With our new door guards protecting the black stallion, we played wackamole with her doors. Like there was a whale of a woman inside the vehicle and we had to escape. After one of my sons were exhausted, we decided it was enough. So as I backed out, I was sure to leave a gift on their windshields. A couple nights back I had ordered some zoogue phone cases, left them in the car and they melted. Well it was so hot again and it was liquid in our cupholders. We dumped the liquid over their doorhandles by the keyhole. Good luck getting in from those doors. I also had two tubs of dynatize proteins and creatine from the FITRx and puritans pride deal. We poured it all over their cars and then spilled water on top of that to crust it. The ladies were mirin. |

And just because you like to keep throwing it in every post, I've never used door protectors and most likely never will. I do my best to avoid parking in spots next to people who park poorly, but I don't see any need to have a heart attack if I get a scratch on my vehicle. You're making fun of people for protecting their vehicle against scratches when you won't even drive your vehicle in fear or scratching your car. Who's the dummy?

a few months ago, i was parked far away from others, with about 8 spaces on both sides of me. there were also about a dozen or more parking spaces behind me in the next row. as i was walking back to my car, i saw some middle-aged woman parked her big mini-van next to me. i was thinking seriously!? are there no spots around?!?!?!?!!!!!? also, she just had to park close to the parking space line on my side. i was just lucky enough to be there. i hurried into my car and reversed out before she exited her vehicle. i wanted to tell her that i didnt appreciate her parking, but i wasnt sure if she understood english. those white vertical streaks left from door hits arent too bad because you can remove them with polishing compound, and then use paint restorer to bring back the shine. its the door DENTS or chipped paint that you really have to worry about :/ |
