my order was canceled today, too. and i was waiting for it on backorder for over 2 weeks

I got cancelled yesterday. That is no big deal. What is a big deal is not getting a "backordered" update somewere along the way. I got order confirmed, and 9 days later a cancellation email. This is not a new computer I was waiting on, so its not like I am checking order status. But I was expecting shipment around now, and thus did not stock up on toothpaste at the store recently. . .because I was expecting an order I made, and they confirmed.

Im tired of this airline overbooking mentality. And they should do a better job of current stock at the moment. I get the overzealous "up to the moment" headache of newegg when your order gets cancelled and yet somebody else gets their order .1 seconds later because it was available then and not .1 seconds before. But for toothpaste or toilet paper, it is more of a "let me know in a day or 2 if its coming" but don't wait until after delivery was expected 9 days later!!!

I agree. They definitely need to do a better job of informing their customers, especially those who have already paid. I was ready to be done with drugstore after they cancelled my order, but after working with customer service they were able to get a similar order shipped out to me. They made it right, but it shouldn't have taken 9 days and 3 emails.
