Oh man, those health insurance companies are going to be PISSED when they find out that 6,000,000 US citizens aren't paying their tithe.

I find that the ones who are hit the hardest are those in community college or people out of high school still working at retail or part time jobs. If i recall correctly, usually universities supply healthcare because it is in your fees, but CC don't. Ya they pushed the age limit to 26 to be covered under your parents, but hell my parents cut me off when I was 18 for I have no idea why lol, then again I had insurance with my school.

I also assume that there are still loopholes for the people I mentioned like "religious beliefs" that is so vague, and financial hardship could be one of those being used before the gov't catches on.

Yet another advantage of being an illegal I suppose. No penalty yet you will still receive free health care. Win win for them!

Colleges & universities do not automatically provide health insurance to their students. Most have student plans available for purchase *in addition* to the regular tuition & fees, as opposed to the cost already being included in them.

For example, student health insurance at my sister's college currently runs about $1200/year.

Ya, I guess it differs from schools, I know for UCs they either make you pay it in the school fees, or you have to show them that you are covered by a parent or purchased your own.

Yep. Some schools require to either buy their own or prove you have a policy yourself or through your parents.

That's why Obamacare includes health exchanges and tax credits - they can get insurance through the exchanges and have their premiums subsidized so that their out-of-pocket medical costs are lower than they are today. If they opt not to buy insurance through the exchanges then they should pay the penalty to cover the risk of default on medical bills from emergency medical care.

She wants to keep ObamaCare because it will provide the health exchanges in which insurers will compete for her business thus lowering her costs and her costs will be further reduced by subsidies in the form of tax credit provided by Obamacare.
