Unless you can show me that someone was holding his kids hostage, Obama wanted the job. When you become a leader you get the luxury of taking the credit but you also have to take the blame. Now I would guess college students are probably the healthiest group of individuals (just based on average age). So why exactly would you require the lowest risk (healthwise) group of individuals to have beefed up healthcare?

I believe in NH, Virginia and Miss you still don't need car insurance. You must prove you are capable of paying for an accident if it were to occur though.

Again this was my personal opinion. I don't know why anyone would want to run for president, but they do. Never said Obama or anyone else didn't want to, and yes he did inherit a mess.

And yet costs will still keep rising. There is no way that companies can cover pre-existing conditions and keep costs the same or lower them.

What good is catastrophic health insurance with extremely low maximum lifetime benefits?

The federal government imposed the mandate on hospitals to provide uncompensated care to all comers in the emergency room.

It makes sense that the federal government imposed another mandate on the uninsured population to pay a tax to compensate the hospitals for the mandated care.

That is what I expect ObamaCare to do. As to whether this is actually the case, you would need to ask someone who is intimately familiar with the legalities of the law.

There is no indication as to what will happen with that revenue that is obtained via obamacare. It will simply line the government's pockets.

Unlike the surcharges on medicare taxes, investment/capital gains/interest income etc. on those individuals making $200K or more, which is supposed to help pay for insurance subsidies and the implementation of exchanges, this revenue is not specifically earmarked for any purpose

We don't know that. Like I said, only someone who is intimately familiar with law in its entirety is qualified to make any statements with regards to how the uninsured tax will be used for. Neither of us are that person.
