I've bought a few tv's from sam's club w/ the extended warranty. Trust me I'm the guy to normally avoid extended warranties. However, at Sam's when my tv had any issue at all (and I had purchased the extended warranty), they just gave me a full refund. I presume they checked it to confirm it had an issue.
Right now I have a plasma I bought from Sams and it occasionally makes an annoying buzzing sound. Not sure if I'm going to take it back or wait for something else to go wrong on it first. I was going to buy one of the nice samsungs but then I read they were having some sore of issue with the capacitors or something. I think I want one of the new LG's with the tiny bezel and the passive 3d. |

This is a great price,
but look for free-shipping and No Taxes. I got a 55" Samsung LED in 2010 for $999.99 from Newegg.com + FS + NT. It's amazing, and use it all the time, no issues, no dead pixels, wonder high quality products from the best! How to Start Living a better Life

They're raising taxes on the Poor and all, inflation is rising on the Poor and all, this January!
What did they spend $16 Trillion dollars on? It sure wasn't for American Citizens! That's $64,000 each American could have had to invest (hopefully instead of spend) toward a business, education, early retirement, or financial independence. Hell we could have loaned it to China, japan, and a boat load of other countries! @ 10% interest rates. We could have been the wealthiest Nation in the World. Instead we killed Sadam Hussein and Bin Ladin with it after an entire invasion. (Why couldn't we just snipe them?) Though half of that Trillion is spent on Classified Black Budget Projects that may one day be available to Public Consumer Technologies. |

This TV is 3.7" thick without the stand. Holy crap. Was looking to upgrade my 55" C8000 series from a couple years ago, but I don't think I would feel comfortable hanging this on the wall. It would stick out like a sore thumb. My current TV is just barely over an inch thick. Need to switch out my current one since part of the panel is failing (dark shadows).

But if I could afford it and had money to burn, then of course SoCal is about 10x better than GA and most everywhere else in the USA. |

The LG 60LS5750 (LS5700) is a better TV for $1299.99 at Costco which is $400 cheaper than anywhere else. I almost bought the Samsung except it is lacking a few little things like HDMI-CEC and it isn't ideal for wall mounting. The LG has everything except 3d.
The 6050 series (6000) is comparable to the 6100 series. I owned the 6100 series and found the LG to be tons better in screen uniformity. The 6050 may not have these issues being a back light LED. You can purchase the Costco extended warranty even for TV's bought from different stores. http://www.costco.com/3-TOTAL-Yea...58241.html Last edited by tezzmin; 09-22-2012 at 04:43 AM.. |

However, weaponry industry is where the cutting edge technologies come from. Making cars, TV, cellphone doesn't exactly advance technology in the current state of our civilization. Everybody now understands that if you control the technology you can control everything. The only question left is, if you want to live like a king, other than making weapon, killing Ladin, making TV, cars, what else can you do to feed yourself? Perhaps learn from ladyGaGa ... Meanwhile, smart TV device, Roku, PS3, Xbox, HTPC, Apple TV, cable box have all been the only "smart" of last generation TV, which the smart TV is trying to replace. To some extent it is successful but largely this is the next field we may watch the smartphone revolution repeats on TV. Soon after Apple has their own iOS TV, all other TV manufacture will swam to Google TV just like Android phone. This drama we can expect to play precisely in next few years. Now before all the "Smartness" are settled in next 3-5 years, this year might be a milestone point to purchase the latest TV if your old TV is dying. That's not because it's smart, but 3D. 3D content was pricey and hard to find merely one year ago, so it's common if most who have 3D TV found themselves rarely turned 3D on. But the number of 3D content has been exploding ever since. The other reason is the consumeration of 3D technology itself was still in test, e.g. active-3D vs. passive 3D. Many complaint headache when watching active-3D, therefore passive 3D with cheap glasses is here to stay. There is news about non-glass 3D TV is on the horizon but that's another 5-10 years away minimally. 3D TV content (not 2D ->3D converted) has such a striking effect, once you're used to it, it's hard to go back watch 2D content. This why ESPN has start to broadcast sports in 3D, newer movie releases are all come with 3D. So don't buy in the Smart TV, but a TV without 3D may make you want to replace it in a year or two.
