Grabbed the 180gb and my buddy grabbed the 240gb.... poor guy wont part ways with his DVD dive... In any case this is a great deal as long as you disable compression for apps like Photoshop. This little baby is going into my 15" macbook pro Ivy Bridge as soon as It arrives. My OWC Mercury is getting a little dated.

I have a Vertex 3 that I bought last December. It seems to be working fine. Should I bother to update the firmware?

Anyway my Vertex 3 60GB was my first SSD and my only SSD so far. I'm going to probably upgrade in the next few months, but I've got to say it has served me well so far without any mishaps. But really fast boot time, etc compared to my old SSD. Moving from XP 32bit 2GB of RAM to Win 7 64 bit with SSD and 8 GB of RAM has been a very pleasurable improvement. |

MIR mayt stil be active but prices are WAY up. Instead of $133 the 256GB is now $189 - $20MIR. (~30% price increase) . |
