~$50-75 video card?
I'm just looking for something to do very basic photo editing and can handle HD video.the HD6670 seems to fit my requirements but i've heard not so good things. I really like the passive cooling on this but i want to keep it a little cheaper: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6814161408 thoughts? |

Pretty much any video card is fast enough for the 2D processing required for "photo editing." Any ATI card with "HD" in the name should be capable of playing back HD video. The best value from ATI would be the HD 5450 for around $30 or less after a rebate. From nVidia, go for one of the "GT" cards.

What do you have now? Unless you are using specialized software, most photo and video editing programs don't take advantage of low end gpus enough to matter. Adobe Premier CS5+ does use GPU in the playback engine (Some on final render but not as much) but for this to work you need a higher end card costing well over $100. Photoshop does use the GPU but only really during zoom and a few filters not during things most people use most of the time. To my knowlege Adobe Lightroom does not have any GPU acceleration in it.
Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .
