I am using the time Warner cable, and I think my PS3's built in wireless is not that good (I purchased this in 2008), my internet speed is 30mbps, but when I play game, it always drop from the internet, and I test the internet speed on the PS3, only has 3 to 4mbps, so I want to get a wired connection on my PS3 to get a better performance. I thought after I installed the tomato, the router would become an access point, could be able to connect to internet without wire, maybe I am wrong with this? I am not a computer technician, sorry about the stupid question.

Can't learn without asking questions so there's no such thing as a stupid question. That's what my boss tells me anyways. So u have another router connected to your cable modem then. If internet is doing I think it's not likely the fault of the router not the PS3. Try setting this router as your main router see if that's improve. Else if u want u can set this up as a bridge to replace your PS3 built in WiFi. Just Google how to set-up a tomato bridge

It works for everything. U can do a lot with tomato. But I think dd-wrt works better as a repeater. I think what u looking for is a wireless bridge instead of a repeater. Google tomato wiki and read up on it to see which setting is right for u.
