I'd say it depends. I have an old 80GB SSD that's plenty with what I do. Wife has a 60GB in hers w/20GB free for the last year now. Both run Win 7 and a handful of apps. That's especially so if you use a server at home. If you only have the laptop, then you need the most you can get, and a dual drive setup being the best.

you are absolutely right ...I need a media server...(NAS is not working out for me, too slow)... Media Server is next...

I'm still waiting on a decent 500 GB that's $300 or less.

I haven't had much luck with Microcenter PMing. I once had a printout of maybe Newegg, wasn't an insane deal just needed it right away. Bbut the guy said they can't match if it's below their cost, or some jazz like that...

which location is that?

Their PM policy is pretty clear. IMO you should insist or talk to someone else (maybe a manager if you want). Bring their PM policy as well.

Another thing you can do is go ahead and purchase the item. Microcenter will email you about customer satisfaction about the transaction. You can leave a comment about how you were dissatisfied b/c they wouldn't PM a recognized retailer when their policy clearly states so. Believe it or not I did this exact maneuver when I bought my ATI 6870s. I got an email from the manager to come in and adjust the price. Be firm, but polite!
