I'm still pissed that PepsiCO spun off Tricon Global (taco bell) 15 years ago. When they had the drink and food, things were really cheap. Remember Charlie Sheen pimping the $2.49 combo: 3 tacos, cinnamon crisps and a med drink! Yes I know there is inflation, but they cut out the tomatoes, cut the real meat and size overall. . .and today that is at least $6.49
Seriously, what do Doritoes have to do with a Taco Bell meal other than they get a great deal on them from Pepsico. . .and they are pawning off something that they do not have to heat, cool, or prepare???
EDIT: its not bad a bad deal if you are really thirsty and at Taco Bell. Here the Medium drinks alone are $1.89. Power down several Dewskis or Powerades

In Washington I have seen between $2 and $2.50 for the meal deal.
The McDonald's $1 McDouble and McChicken are very good deals.
Little Cesar's $5 Large peperoni pizza is probably the best value since you can get a lunch and dinner for five bucks. Great for guys like me that work 13hr shifts.
The best value though, is Round Table pizza weekday lunch buffet for $6.99. I skip breakfast, then for lunch eat 13 slices of pizza, 13 chicken wings, and attack the salad bar. I'm still full by the time dinner rolls around, so seven bucks feeds a person for a day.
False. A McDouble is not a Double Cheeseburger, that is a different item on the menu. A McDouble has two burger patties, but only one slice of cheese. The Double Cheeseburger has two burger patties and two slices of cheese, but is no longer on the dollar menu, as it now costs around $1.99 or whatever. Get your facts straight.
FYI, I have always been able to get a Chalupa instead of the Gordita. Much better deal. Newer cashiers usually say it can't be done - I tell them to look for the button on the register. Never had an issue.
My lunch every Monday is one of those and a Crunchwrap Supreme, both no meat / substitute beans and no sour cream. Total $5.05 for the Chalupa, CWS, Chips, drink, and about 20 fire/hot/fire roasted sauces...mmmmm.
