Amex $20 off $20 Raleigh, Cummings, Carol Stream, Anaheim, Staten Island

So trying to get the credit for Citi card is turning into a chore. First I contacted Amex, they said contact Citi. I contacted Citi who said since it's an Amex promotion, I need to contact them. Contacted Amex again, and I get this response:

"I'd like to inform you that Citi AAdvantage American Express card is issued by Citi.

It is just powered by American Express; however, for any promotion held by Citi, you need to contact them only.

I hope this information is useful to you."

I must say, after going back and forth a few times for the 3 different credits for Cycle Works, the people who respond to Amex's Secure Messages don't seem to actually read the emails you send them. I've had them respond a few times basically ignoring everything I had said in my message. It's kind of frustrating.

I contacted AskAmex via twitter. I mentioned my citi card and Rachel intercepted my Amex secure message. She already knew my citi card number when she responded. I would recommend you get one of the social media folks to help you.

That did the trick. Man, they are really quick and easy to deal with. Much better than the secure message people when working through the main site.

Some of the Amex reps have no idea how these promotions work -- I've had two tell me that the sync promotions are only eligible for Amex-issued cards (not cobranded cards e.g., Citi). Obviously that's simply factually false, but I've had multiple reps give me that line. Haven't had any luck getting non-Amex credits issued so far.

Try going the twitter route (@askAmex). They literally had it taken care of for me in like 5 minutes after I initially tweeted and got them the info they asked for.
