When my cats were kittens they got a small can of wet food twice a day, split onto two plates so they wouldn't fight over it. When they're young and active, it's not going to hurt them to have that extra wet protein. Leave the dry food out all the time. Once they start to get older, if they gorge too much and gain too much weight you can start giving them a measured amount of dry food each day and not refill it when they run out. My cats never gorged on dry food and I left it out 24/7, they never became overweight. Every cat is different.

Ain't that the truth! My cat will gorge on anything any time she thinks about it. Oh she'd be a big fatty if I left out food all the time so I have to measure out everything and give them to her evenly throughout the day.

k. girls like to share.. they have their own beds/bowls. its just community goods as far as they're concerned. plus they rather just find a nook or cranny in the room to sleep on instead of the beds i got them

i'm less worried now. seems they're adapting. just need to slowly get them to like me. if solely i can take them to the vet next week

As my vet said, depending on who you ask, all of the cat food providers have their flaws and their filler in their food. Unless you go all natural and he mentioned Royal Canin as an example (they have a cat food line), then filler is going to occur, some more than others.

I do agree with the no-grain thing, have switched my dog to a no grain dog food from Wellness.

Yup, my dog seems to like it too. I take her word/bark for it.

Dog's will eat week old road kill and cat poo. I don't think their palates are that developed.
