You can make something like this yourself, for less, that'll hold more, by just going to Home Depot and picking up some L-brackets. Mount them to a stud and you'll be able to put as many books on them as you want.

Or they just don't care. When using quotations at the end of a sentence or before a comma, the period/comma belongs within the quotations. If YOU'RE gonna be the grammar police, learn how to write correctly yourself.
