Decent specs. However, like you said, the integrated graphics and weak PSU mean youd need to invest at least another $200-$300 for a new graphics card and power supply to make it game-able.

Nice specs for those who can use the computer as is. I am holding out for a little better
pricing ,$550+/-, before pulling the trigger. Would like to update before Windows 8 starts shipping. Will we see similar specs for less on Black Friday? Thoughts anyone? |

DEAL UPDATE: The deal is still valid and better than before: there is no rebate hassle. Alternatively, you can get it with more memory and hard drive space for $680 shipped from Newegg. Tax (or lack of) at either TigerDirect and/or Newegg will sway the decision for potential buyers.

Well, I made a decision
I found a factory refurb DX4870-UR10P @ geeks.com for $539 (w/10% discount code) with $21 shipping and no tax. I've had good luck with refurbs, and this price for an i7 is the best I've seen. I'll just add some ram, and maybe a graphics card (doubt it), and march on with a state of the art desktop for $500 smackers! Luv it!

Well, after ALL of that
the clowns at geeks.com cancelled my order 2 days later! Stated they ran out of stock. I phoned my order in and they checked inventory and said they had it! REALLY BAD experience with the geeks at geeks. I recommend avoiding them.BUT, as luck would have it, Newegg emailed me this morning and said that the DX4870-UR11P is now back down to $679, with free shipping and no tax! MUCH better deal with the added ram, HD capacity, and full warranty. Mine's already being shipped today, and I'm pumped about this change of events. |
