I would love to know the answer to this as well - I keep thinking this would be perfect for when I take the motorcycle for a long ride and use GPS - sometimes the phone doesnt last too long and I have no charger hookup on my bike (nor to I intend to wire one). Keeping this in the backpack would be great though, cause it could be charging while using it (bluetooth to helmet). Just would love to know if it is better to get a few smaller ones, or one bigger one.

Got my batteries last night. The 1A charge from the trent battery does charge the ipad.

Personally I would go with two smaller ones.
More versatility. Shorter overall charge times (can charge two at once vs. one looong charge time). The 5000+mah ones should completely charge your device a couple times over.
