Cool! Wanted a couple of the standard WD Live TV without the Hard Drive so I checked and they were also selling them "recertified" at a discount, but the promo code WDCARES did not discount it and I was being charged for shipping. I decided to see what happens if I added 2 to my cart and Voila, I got a $15 discount plus free shipping for a total of $105 for 2 delivered!

These are 2 different things. The only advantage WD TV Live has over the hub is built in WIFI. I have the HUB and its great. I have it set up in my bedroom attached another 2 TB hard drive to it. (I have a large Audio/Video collection). And I have a logitech revue set up in my living room. With the HUB i can watch my videos using the logitech revue over the network.

By the way this is a very good deal. Most places this retails for $175+. I got mine a little cheaper about a year ago from Newegg, it was $100 at the time.

I have the hub also. It is essentially a NAS with an integrated video streamer. I am considering whether I should get another one. I think WD still has no Amazon Video though, which starts to become a drag. For local video play this is the best for the money though. It plays almost everything that ever exists as a codec/package. It integrates with a network easily, it has Android , iOS remote control applications, etc. etc. Great hardware!

Whats the best way to add content to the WD TV Live Hub in your experience (or anybody)? I'm thinking of regular dvd movies, and also dvd+r with mkv files on them. Thanks!

I've Live and Live Hub both and I feel the Live Hub version has more smooth menu navigation and faster compare to basic Live version and its a great deal at this price as it comes with 1TB HDD included. You can also use wifi adapter with Live Hub version. Here is a list of supported wifi adapters [custhelp.com].

Agree. I have both also, the Hub is faster.

yes but you can have it shipped for free, not pay for gas, get it in 2 days with Amazon Prime, and not pay tax in most states.

OR, there are the rest of us that do pay tax for Amazon, plus have a 50/50 shot of any hard drive based device showing up shipped via UPS looking like it was run through a destruction derby and just clicking upon powerup. VS picking up a bulk truck pallet shipped retail version for the same price on the way home today. Don't be so quick to judge, to each his own method of procuring a deal

All my movies are downloaded from online, and I just copy and paste to the HUB or the drive attached to it over the network.
