I am on my 5th board from MSI RMA. I went ahead and got this one since at least I hope it will work, and I will have a running computer, since for the last 4 months, I have been playing their RMA game and they keep sending me DOA boards.

Are all Z77's hackintosh compatible? Would this work?

Many store bought computers use specialized front panel ports that are plug-in style instead of individually wired so that hooking up the front panel cables can be difficult without some rigging involved. To check on this, your best bet is to look up that Dell motherboard at eBay (example, just type in Dell [Whatever model number your dell is] Motherboard at eBay and look at the pictures seller's provide. Pay close attention to the front panel header on the motherboard and see if it looks like a normal motherboard's FP header or if it's a smaller plug-oriented variety.

If it's normal looking, then virtually any motherboard will fit in there. Be sure of course to get the same socket-style motherboard so that your CPU will be compatible with it!

LOL, no way. I have a 550W Bronze certified PSU (OCZ) that is tested with another motherboard, adn the bare minimum components (i3 cpu, 2 dimms, no video, ssd)

Yeah, its just a pain, luckily I really havent needed my PC for anything, I still have laptop, phone, tablet, etc.

Curious - Do you mean you're one your 5th board of model in this thread and do you have to pay any shipping costs for all those RMAs? If so then shipping costs could be approaching a decent portion of the cost of this board.

Sold Out. Right before I was going to buy. It's tough to find a board at this price with SATA 6/Gbs & 4 memory slots.

Guess i'll wait for the next deal to come along.

might wanna look at the case/PSU again, it's not common for a board to go kapoof 4 times in a row.

and MSI isn't a budget brand, they pretty much sell their stuff like 10 bucks cheaper than the bigger brand like ASUS, budget brand would be ECS, those things are pure crap.

I know, I actually bought a cheap ECS board (same chipset, rev) for $10 after rebate, put that one in with everything else the same, and it fired right up.

For the record... I bought this MB a few weeks ago for a HTPC build. A little over a week in and so far so good. No problems with installation or performance so far. TU + REP +1
