Matrix One 7" Android ICS Tablet $59+S&H

What do you see?

Is the CPU accurate? and single core or dual? Curious to see if anyone else got better spec'ed tablets.

The ones I really wanted to install were the Staples app (figured some coupons would recoup some of the tablet cost) and GPS spoofer to use with the Staples app. Also can't install Google maps. I received 2 Matrix One tablets. One Black and One White. I think they are fine for the price...but the Ainol is better and about $40 more. Matrix One is still fine for my 3yr old. When I first got it, I thought I received one that someone had returned...the charger was out of its plastic, and looked like someone had peeled the screen protector plastic...then I opened the second one, and it was the same way..

I played MKV / AVI files from the USB port (using a 8gb jump drive), and it worked fine. It already had Google Play (market) installed when I got it, but when I opened the app, and went to installed apps, it was blank...not sure, why i didn't recognize anything, but guessing these guys side loaded.

I installed Netflix, Hulu Plus, Mobo Player. and Youtube app from Google Play, and they installed just fine, and I was able to move all but the Hulu to the micro SD card. The Netflix and Hulu Plus didn't work. The Mobo Player worked fine, but I might uninstall it, since the player that came with it, seems to play MKV just fine. The youtube app also worked fine. I also tried to install Mixzing music player, but it said that my device wasn't supported.

I also have Acer Iconia A500 and the Cricket phone from previous SD deals and their screens better...but Acer costs a lot more.

in conclusion...for the price, I think the Matrix One is a good value...its not a Nexus 7...so don't compare it to that. It all depends on your use...if you want a web browser to check email, play angry birds, fruit ninja, etc. then this is perfect...will make a great Christmas Gift. Can't beat $60. If you order more than one, then you can split the shipping cost with other folks...thats what I did.

Using "Android System Info" App I get:

Processor = ARMv7 rev 2(v7)
Current Freq = 1008.0Mhz
Freq range = 30.0 Mhz - 1488.0 Mhz


Using "Hardware Info" App

Processor = ARMv7 rev 2(v71)
Cores = 1
Model = A10_MID
Product = Crane_q7
Brand = Softwinners
Max Freq = 1008 Mhz
Camera = .3 megapixel

The box states that it has a "1.5 Ghz processor" and a "Webcam 2.0". My guess is that the processor may be capable of 1488 ghz speed (so they use that in marketing) and that the "Webcam 2.0" probably refers to a revision and not pixels.

I called them after two emails went unanswered (to sales & support) and their 'chat' went to 'leave a message'

I described the issue, he asked if the green tab was missing, and I have no idea what he was referring to. He also asked if it had a textured back, which mine does not (has a slight rubber feel, but no texture to it). He said that they must have shipped a demo unit by accident with all of the orders that came through that day. He was going to ship a new one with a return label for the old one, but I just asked for a refund instead of waiting. I'm kind of "burned" by the experience unfortunately.

I hope everyone else has a better experience than I had.

Can someone please post their pics if you had received Matrix 7 ?

Worked fine for me. I cant get netflix to work. Not sure I'm keeping this thing. I love the usb port but man is it laggy.

Cool, not that I really need it but I'll try that later. I flipped thru a bunch of the apps and it seems like the ones I can't install are the ones that need or use GPS, and a few random other ones. No biggie, except that the tablet just lost most of its value not being able to get my staples coupons like I planned.

My wife was initially ok with me buying this crap because of the potential value of the coupons, but now she's like "so what's the point of that tablet now", and I'll have to agree with her this time

I think we got the same thing. Mine is white. Sounds like the same packaging. When I go back to the website I still cant figure out what exactly I received. lol. Did we get a better model in your opinion? Mine has all the ports hdmi, usb, ect... Im so confused

I can't get Netflix to work! I can download it (from both Play Store and Amazon), and each time I try to open the program it goes to a black screen and quickly closes. Anybody able to get Netflix working?

I received the white one also. The box is labeled as Matrix One S. The only difference I could make out from the Matrix One specs was that it has 16GB of storage instead of 4GB. Unfortunately it only has 512MB of RAM, and not 1GB listed on the box. Google Play was already loaded. Overall my 9yo is happy with it.

The 512 ram was originally spec'd with the 1.5 ghz cpu though, so maybe you have a faster cpu. Can you try using the "Hardware Info" App from the Play store to find out? Also look for the camera spec because you may have the 2 meg rather than .3 meg.
