Drinking Water until... eheheSo... I for the passed couple years... we been buying drinking water by the bottles (16.9 fl oz.) everytime we buy about 5-10 cases (35 bottle/case) and we kill a case a week... Also, I have the water dispenser on the fridge which is filtered and somehow I can't drink it... always makes me have a tummie ache (must be the filter or something...) So I'm trying to find something that more costs efficient & have tasty water (priority)... So i'm thinking... 1. Getting the water cooler dispenser and buy those 5 gallons water bottles and refill water from the vending machine or the water shop... decent taste 2. Buying Brita or Zero water (or whatever it's called) and filtered at home... but Im just afraid it might give that tap water taste, So we drink lots of water... which is the best solution... please help :/ Thanks

1. Have you tried changing the filter on your fridge?
2. Get a PUR filter for your faucet? 3. I hope you're recycling all those damn bottles, jeez 4. You can bring those 5 gallon bottles to the store and fill them pretty cheap, and use them in a water cooler at home 5. Switch to beer |

Why not just drink it straight from the tap?If you don't like the taste of the water out of the fridge, buy those brita/pur filters that attach to your faucet, no need to get a separate dispenser. yadda yadda, save the planet, use less plastic, yadda yadda. |

With regard to the stomach ache, it very well could just be psychosomatic. US drinking water is reliable and safe, especially to natives. I'm not trying to go OT here, but tap water really is the best solution, with regard to health, cost, and environmental friendliness.
here's a list of bottle water creating actual tummy aches: http://www.pacinst.org/topics/wat..._table.pdf I don't know if there is really a solution to acquiring the "taste" for tap water, other than time. |

2. I used to have one of those before... and again I don't like the tap water taste :/ Sadly, I'm pretty picky with the taste. 3. Yes, trust me on that... we recycle can, bottles, glass. get some money from it lol! 4. I'm thinking of this cus everyone benefits from it... the water from the shop/vending machine is taste slightly better than the tap water at home or the fridge... something i am fine with. 5. Definitely! or even better cocktails (and hard liquor on the weekend) lol! Thanks for you input! ![]() ![]() I'm thinking of that brita filter... but could it cost more than going to the machine to fill up water?... them filter can be costly... We have a two filter system that is attached to the cabinet under the sink. It takes up a very small amount of space and does a great job of providing clean, great tasting water. DH is from Ireland where the water is fresh rainwater, not water stored in lakes or reservoirs like most of the US has. Anyway he's always been picky about the taste of water and yet he is very happy with the taste of the water that goes through the two filter system.
Happiness and depression are both feelings, just like joy and anger. It's not feelings that give us problems. It's what we do with them that makes the difference.

What's wrong with tap water?
The constitutions of most of our States and of the United States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of the press. -Thomas Jefferson, June 5, 1824

I'll admit there actually is a difference between the drinking water in Philadelphia and Trenton, and the area where I live between the two. We have a refrigerator with a filter built into it, with a water dispenser inside and we simply change out that filter. We really don't notice any difference between the taste of the water from the refrigerator vs the tap water to be perfectly honest. Though if we go to a restaurant in either NJ or Philly, we can tell the difference in the taste of the water.
The only time we buy bottled water, is when we go boating, as water from a hose is not portable water for drinking nor refilling the bottles we bring with us. So unless we are at "port" where we are able to fill those bottles somewhere that we know the water is portable, we use bottled water. We try not to use bottled water, due to the waste of plastic involved. Although we have a water tank on the boat, season after season and winterizing, really doesn't leave it with a "fresh water" drinking ability. Unless you have a newer boat; that allows you to hook up to "city water" and even with that, most boater's carry their own water to "drink". The suggestions of a filter on the sink faucet are by far the best idea. ~ Everyone is gifted - but some people never open their package ~ ~ You were born an original. Please disregard my previous post. I noticed you were from SF which is probably why you don't like the taste of the tap water. I know, at least as far as municipal water goes, they add a lot of gay to it which has been knows to cause stomach problems.
