Android Devices Can't Connect to Belkin Router
I have a Belkin Play N600 Router and suddenly last night my Droid X and TouchPad running Android cannot connect to the wifi. Both devices can see it, Droid says it's connected and TP can't, but I cannot access the internet with wifi on. DH's iPhone is fine.I've reset the router, unplugged the router & modem, forget and reconnect to the network, etc. but I still can't use the wifi. Connects to a public wifi perfectly fine. Any tips? Have you checked the Droid X or Touchpad to see if they are using the right encryption and key? |

PC - 192.168.2.2 Phone - 192.168.2.3 On Phone (phone cannot find my 5GHz connection, only the 2.4 Ghz one) 172.27.35.88 On TP: 172.27.35.11 All are WPA/WPA2 security connections. Both phone and TP can connect to the wifis but not to the internet. |

|
Now my next question is is any computer able to connect to the 2.4ghz connection and get to the internet? Im wondering if the 2.4ghz settings got changed. |
|
|
No, my PC cannot connect to the 2.4ghz, only the 5. TP can see both and can't connect to the internet on either and phone can't find the 5 ghz. |

Found the problem there, the old password was still in the history. I am now on the 2.4. I know I'm not having the same problem on the Android devices because I am manually entering the passwords. Last edited by kel_be; 09-26-2012 at 06:26 AM.. |

Both the Droid X and Touchpad only work on the 2.4ghz frequency range too. You said you reset your router back to stock, that means all the settings were erased. Is it possible something else got switched? Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .

Good to know about the 2.4ghz. I pushed the reset button on the back of the router, then forgot and reconnected to the phone. When that didn't work I then restarted the router, no change either. ETA, now my printer won't connect. I'm getting this error:
From what I can see, everything started after the router went through it's re-initialization at 3:30a on Tuesday. That's when I was unable to get on my wifi. Last edited by kel_be; 09-26-2012 at 07:01 AM.. |

Your phones and tablets should have no problems with WPA2 encryption with a very long and complex key. It is the only recommended security encryption method that is recommended. |

Hi,
I am having a similar problem. I have a coby kyros 7033 tablet that was constantly disconnecting from wifi (I have a Belkin G Wireless Router). Yesterday I attempted to change the channels. The channel was on 6 (not auto) when I checked and I adjusted it to 11 but that only caused everything to disconnect and the net was not working on any device in the home. I reset the router and made sure all the old settings were in place. Now, no android device in the home will connect. My brother has an HTC phone that used to connect without problems, as well as a tablet. None of these will connect either. On my tablet, when I check "advanced" settings it says IP address unavailable. It does not connect to the internet at all anymore when I click "connect" - nothing happens. Please help
