Man, their "48 hour" sale from last monday just ended two days ago.. . . Same deal for me, but this is better if buying a 1k plus machine.

Is the screen 720p or 900p? I got the same config, except 8gb ram, no SATA, 2gb 650M and 900p for about 1010 after tax!

It says Liquid Crystal Display,14HD+,FWLED,True Life,SAMSNG in the order. I would like to believe that 14HD+ means 900p but what do I know

Thoughts on below for $431 after tax? Mostly needing a system for vacation and occasional use at home when not at my desk... Not a heavy gamer (not graphics anyway.)

Not sure if I should wait for a better deal. The system seems to be last year's model?

(Had this sitting my cart a while... and may cancel to hold out for a Lenovo or Toshiba deal with similar specs, )

I need a laptop with decent (1080p) resolution. To me, I need the real estate that the resolution gives me - not a gamer, just a software developer that likes to have multiple files open side by side (vertical resolution is important too). 15" form-factor is nice, 17" is just a little clunky. I don't need the fastest friggin' system with the latest sandy vagina bridge either. If it comes with WIndows installed, it will be wiped - I don't use Windows.

So I see a Dell Inspiron 15R special edition with:
