I get the feeling that Comcast is superior in quality, however my bill has doubled over five months. I'm currently dishing out $180 for JUST cable and internet. This has happened before, I called and they came down.
We all know these companies cater to new customers, is it a good tactic to just start switching back and fourth each and every time the promotional period ends?
I have two Xbox 360s, I heard a few years ago that these could work as STB w/AT&T. Is this true?
~HD for at least two rooms (can I purchase the boxes separately via EBAY etc?)
~SD for another room (this room currently is fed through one of the HD rooms)
~connection speed that will support gaming
Either way, I need help with setting up AT&T. I have not yet begun going through to see what they offer. The wife likes the popular cable shows, I obviously use the internet more. We have no desire for premium channels, however, we are gamers. I've heard that AT&T has tiers for their internet. If so, which is the lowest one that would support online play?
I know I could go check for myself, but this is a knowledgeable group. Also, I hope there are perhaps a code or two that could be passed along.
I'm sure I'm not the first to ask this type of question here, the searchbar provided little result. If there is a similiar thread to this I'd appreciate a link.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I live in the suburbs of Chicago.

I tried AT&T DSL in the past, switch back to Cable internet within a few months since the speeds were terrible. I had signed up for 6mbps and was getting 2mbps or less. I won't be doing that anytime soon. Only reason I would go back is so that can revert back to Cable after month to get the new customer deal with Cable.
