You can permanently plugged it in to the USB adapter in the car. This thing is bad ass for the price.

Is there a benefit to getting this if you already have a pretty nice bluetooth enabled radio with a microphone ?

The problem is that my car's cigarette socket stays on even when the key is out; I had a belkin bluetooth unit and it drained my car battery overnight because it stayed on even though I powered it down (defective obviously).

Ideally it would be something that I plug in but goes into standby after not disconnecting and not finding a BT unit for 20 sec or so. I don't mind turning it on again when i get in the car.

Great for those old cars that don't have the built-in bluetooth in the audio system, but the price $20 seems to be gone....up to $29.99 now with FSS

I left it on yesterday when I got home and this morning I was able to use it. That means it automatically shuts down after sometime I think.
20s is a little bit too short. 5 minutes is better. It doesn't have the auto-on feature when plugged into the power source. I was using the Sony MW600 but it doesn't work while charging.

I have PowerAmp on my S3 and there's an option to auto resume the song if bluetooth is connected. It works seamlessly.

$30 is a great price for a unit like this. Better than the Belkin because it's removable.

While Amazon is $29.99, I found the same item at AccessoryGenie.com [accessorygenie.com] also for $29.99, but there's a 25% off coupon, APPROMO112, which made it ~$26 with shipping.

Doing a search, it looks like this item goes on sale at Amazon often (twice in the past month), so it may be worth waiting.
