Yes, the two are almost identical other than the headboard. I bought the Malm and my old room mate had this other one. I really wanted this but as he already had the Hopen I didn't want to have exactly the same bed, but it's the headboard and that's about the only thing different!

(FYI, when I got the Malm I ended up getting the shelving unit that sits behind the straight headboard, which has a whole shelving unit that slides out of each side, it was pretty nice for making the headboard look so much better than just a board of wood.)

Cool story bro, enjoy paying 3 times for furniture that weighs 5 times more that you'll want to get rid off just as quickly in 10 years.

Just about all furniture nowadays is plywood and fiberboard underneath, but you pay 3-5 times more to have some Asian kid assemble it instead of doing it yourself. IKEA is also a beacon of light with simple, modern furniture whereas most furniture stores stock almost nothing but ornate crap meant for 70 year olds or people with ranches.

I know you just purchase this. Can anyone comment on the Sultan lade. I heard it breaks easy compare to Sultan Luroy.
