Sierra Trading does indeed mix up their "sales" discounts in a multitude of ways. The thing to look for is what is the percentage being subtracted from? Is is retail, regular price or "sale" price. They typically have THREE prices shown no matter what the "special" sale is. So, when it says "extra 40% off" AND free shipping, this should be the best you can get. Just make sure it is off the lowest list price before the "extra" discount, which would be their posted "sale" price. For example, for simplicity's sake, let's say the retail price is $1000, the regular price is $800, and the sale price is $500. If you click on the "view coupon" with the item, if the price shown there is $300, that would be "extra 40% off". Right now they are advertizing at least 70% off, but because the discount is off the retail price and not the sale price, it turns out that in this case "70% off" is in fact a higher final sales price then the "extra 40% off" would be where the percentage off is off the sales price. Phew!
