What does edge to edge glass mean when there is clearly a frame? Why is this a good deal when the resolution does not support the screen type (IPS+1080P=lose)?

This is for people who can't afford a good 2560 x 1440 monitor. We all know 1080P suits most people since the market is still stuck there ( 1080P 60" TVs). |

HP 27" high rez has gone for $400-$500 on sale, that's an a$$load more rez, pq, etc. for close enough to the price, and yes, the HP also qualifies as a monitor, not a TV. Nothing against this deal, but I see no point is all, and I see no edge to edge either... |

The HP has a very strong antiglare coating. This Dell has a glossy coating instead.... |

I use my 32" 1080P HDTV (with IPS panel) as a monitor and it's not that bad from about 3-4 feet back. |

I upgraded from a 24inch Dell (1080p of course) to a 27 inch HP 1080p monitor about two years ago which I thought was a good idea at the time.
At first it popped out to me but I soon realized I was missing the anti-glare coating on the Dell. Now, the 1080p on the 27 inch is just starting to look like bad to me when I compare it to my 24 inch. I think if you're planning to get a 27 inch monitor that you should go for the higher res and picture quality. At this price point, I'd rather try my luck with the catleap just for the resolution (vs Dell's overall better quality) or at least spend a few hundred more for a HP or Dell. Edit: That's not to say that this isn't a good price for a Dell monitor that just came out. Just saying I would stick to 24 or less if you're getting 1080p.
