I received the FREE night certificate when signing up, & also got one one on my 1 year Anniversary. However, on my year 2nd Anniversary (after promising I would receive the free night again) a month later CHASE told me that I am NOT eligible for the FREE night certificate. I told the operator that I received it the first two years and was promised one this year, but they would not budge....they simply said my card was not eligible. I even talked to a senior rep. WTH??? I closed the account.

I got this a few months back. Overall I am happy. I got the 50k points, which had a miserable selection of 'rewards'. Ended up getting $200 at BestBuy for 44k. Bought Fifa13 with it so far. Will probably buy some Xmas presents with it this fall. Using the free stay in Oakland before the Saints/OAK game in November so that's all free ($109/night) value. All in all, I like it. I do sporadic living social, group on purchases with it just as a reminder it's there
 I think it's worth it. Plus, you can downgrade to the no annual free card below this. Not really any advantage of that card other than to keep the credit line open and not close it (and not have to pay a yearly fee). Ben B~

just did some investigating, there is a link to marriot rewards under the T&C of the * first purchase
I then followed it here under use points- https://www.skymall.com/mr/subdept.htm?c=2100001 I'm not too impressed, it seems 50k will get you just over $200 in gift cards (42k - 46k points = $200 gc) I don't see them giving a $500 statement credit at this rate of transfer, also air miles transfer are ridiculously low as well (something like 30k points nets you 10k miles) |
