This was stated on my prior post -- they said they are waiting 30 days to allow them more time to handle fraud cases since this was a significant deal, and to allow time for returns.

It still doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me though, because we can't use the points anyway until after 30 days. I guess it may be easier for MyPoints and OpenSky since they'd only have to send the transaction data once by waiting the full return period before doing so.

Users are confused is not really a good/strong reason to delete off the whole FB discussion.

They could have just posted a big bold "EXPIRED OFFER" that would have taken care of this.

Also, what kind of fraud they want to prevent by waiting the full 30 days to show the points as pending ? As pointed out, the points will be pending anyway and cannot be cashed out.
They can also put an additional hold of 10-15 days on the points if need be.

I am guessing they are trying/planning out some escape strategy, we just can't put our
finger on it yet

Are you always like this? Why are people so paranoid? Can't you wait 30 days? It is not a change it is upto $500/person, you should give reasonable time for mypoints and opensky.

If you can't wait just cancel or return your order and be happy! Don't whine, annoy and spoil the deal for others!

Chill out, I have been doing deals for over 10 years now and have seen them come and go and have learned a thing or two.

The deal is over, we are not spoiling anything for anybody, just having some speculation going
on while we bide our time. If you are not interested in the banter, feel free to ignore the thread

I think a problem with that is Facebook's new system. I have had a few "Sponsored" posts come up from companies I follow with expired deals.

They're very diligent with fraud. More so than any other service I've defrau...errr... dealt with. But if you have 2+ different addresses, different names to use, IP's, credit cards, etc. You would probably pull it off. Too much of a risk for me though.
