Patriot 64GB Snip USB Flash Drive $19.99 (After Rebate) @ Frys

I'm curious as to why you're receiving so many thumbs down? Maybe because there's no FS unless you have a B&M nearby?

It's a decent deal if you're near a Fry's Electronics – even with tax, it's cheaper than the Memorex 64GB that's on the FP.

Unfortunately I can't find many reviews for it, the only ones I found so far are on Newegg (only 2, but all positive) and Amazon (1 and it's negative).

I personally own a Patriot 16GB (not Snip) that I purchased about a year ago and haven't had any issues with it, so might get this one to add to the Patriot family – thanks for posting.

I was going to post this but decided not to. What I've learned about Fry's is that you have to look carefully at deals that look particularly good. Often you'll find that their dumping an inferior or obsolete product. I couldn't find any information about this drive, particularly relating to speed and reliability. I also noticed that previous Fry's deals for Patriot thumb drives were for ones that got poor reviews on NewEgg. 64GB for $20 seems a bit too good to be true and I suspect that these are either very slow, very unreliable, or most likely both. Unless it can be proved otherwise I'll skip.

BTW a good example of what I'm saying is the Samsung camera. $99 for a 18x zoom looks really good. When you go looking for the model the first one you'll find is the WB750 (with 1080P HD video), which many places sell for $139. However, closer examination shows it to be the WB700 model (with 720P HD video), so it doesn't seem quite so hot. That isn't to say it's not a good camera at a good price, it's just that Fry's are being intentionally obscure.

For some reason several people have voted that they are unable to replicate the deal.

The deal breaker for me is shipping is an extra $6, $5 MIR and it's only USB 2.0. I could handle any two of those faults, but not all three.

i picked one up in store at the tempe az store. i think it is a good deal. ps3 and xbox 360 no usb 3.0. plenty fast transfer at 25 mpbs. yeah i know not as fast as my usb 3.0....but 64gb for $20...great deal.

How slow is this?
It would be a waste of time if it takes a week to transfer data to it.
Also, how big a deal is it ?
With memory prices continuing to fall, and usb 3 drives coming out more often
