I wish it were standard that all new laptops came with Blu-ray r/Rw drive. I can't wait for Blu-ray to be as common as DVD drives
meh Id rather they do away with optical media in computers and give me extra space for that 2nd HDD and more USB slots, now that i have an external blu ray drive anyway......
I finally created an account just to chime in on this laptop. While this laptop does have the geforce 640M LE, the Y480s have an extremely watered down version (96 shaders, 762 MHz, DDR3/GDDR5, similar to 550M/555M) I went to my local Fry's to confirm, and it is indeed this version of the GPU. The build quality and the speakers were really nice, keyboard was easy to type on and had a good feel. The screen was average, not great but not bad.
I'm not really sure of what to make of this. The top link says its about 20% weaker than the vanilla 640M which is fine, especially for a non HD laptop. The second guy claims only 96 shaders? That's like 1/5 of what the specifications sheet says. Also does 96 refer to the pipelines? What a clusterfark of information.
