Covers updates to Combat Training, Theater Mode, Party Games (formerly Wager Matches), Prestige leveling, maps and more.
In Black Ops 2, hitting Prestige no longer resets weapon experience or unlocks, it no longer wipes challenge progress and aims to be another step in a long line of level progression.
Three new maps were featured during the presentation: 'Overflow,' battles on the ruined streets of Peshawar, Pakistan; 'Hijacked,' close quarters combat on the high seas on a fancy yacht; and 'Express,' a fight at the Los Angeles terminal of the California High-Speed Rail – which is finished in Treyarch's 2025 – featuring moving, bullet trains that will kill you if you get in their way.
if that's true then this may be the first COD game i'll ever prestige in
Achievements are not for the meek, it is better to forfeit inheritance of the earth so that the mighty may look upon my gamerscore, and despair. Achievements are for men who dream; men who dare; men who achieve! Men who carve out entire galaxies with nothing more than nimble cheetos-dusted fingers and their wits, and in our leisurely twilight days we shall sit by softly flickering fires with our descendants recounting the tales of these unimaginable glories.
I was looking forward to this game. I have been a fan of the COD series since COD2. I converted from the BF series. Bought every COD game for PC they released. COD4, WAW, MW2, BO & MW3. I had my issues with some of them.. namely the MW series with their lack of dedicatde servers and abundent amount of hackers But I played through. It helped that MW3 there is a tool you can use to kick people. But there are still too many hackers.
BUT.. I will not be getting this one now. For this reason:
No. We are providing a huge number of servers around the world at no extra charge – plenty for everyone to enjoy. And we will administer the servers.
I was looking forward to being able to rent a server with my clan and not have to worry about hackers, TKers, idiots or anything like that. Was also hoping we could limit certain things that will no doubt be unbalanced. As well as controlling maps. And being able to lock down the server for scrims.
I do not see a good reason for them not to rent servers out. They are going to pay for the servers themselves? This is something you usually only see for MMO games. And they usually get you by being pay to play. Or even if they are "free" they get you to pay for a upgrade if you want the full experience. What is in it for them? Also they will admin the servers? How? They are going to pay people to sit on the servers? Will they kick / ban hackers or idiots blocking spawns? Blowing up their team's items?
Sorry for the rant. Just very frustrated at this news. My entire clan will now be canceling our pre-orders and will be looking for a new game to move to.
Treyarch revealed three modes during its preview event, detailing them in a presentation at the end of a day of multiplayer hands-on.
'Tranzit' adds scale to the original gametype, and acts as the primary mode for zombie players. Rather than be stuck in one location, players are free to explore a "big, giant, expansive world." Calling it "significantly bigger than anything [Treyarch has] ever created," Lamia promises players (playing solo or up to four-players co-op) can traverse on foot or via the bus featured in the zombies world premiere trailer above.
'Survival' has the "more classic zombies vibe," where zombie aggressors attack the player within a single area from the "expansive" Tranzit world. From its description, things work relatively the same as they have in the past: hole up, fortify your location and venture out to grab bonuses scattered throughout the environment when you find the right moment.
'Grief' is a new mode, available for up to 8 players that takes the concept of Survival and adds a competitive twist. In this mode, two teams of four players are dropped within the zombie-infested Tranzit world and must outlive the opposing team.
For Grief, while humans can't shoot the opposing team "they can play with the world to put the opposing team in precarious situations."
Zombies being built on the multiplayer engine also allows other changes, including stat tracking/leaderboards, improved matchmaking (games with players with similar stats), and custom games.
I ordered the normal version of Black Ops 2 from this deal [LINKY], $48 plus Nuketown Multiplayer Map.
But I'm not sure of the difference between the Hardened's version of zombies vs the regular version of zombies. Does the regulare version from the deal I bought come with zombies at all? Or do I have to get the Hardened version to play zombies? And of course...is the Hardened version worth the extra $$?
