Why are you upgrading from a 1712? It has MultiEq and hdmi 1.4...
I was thinking about buying a 1712 refurb for around this price.
Yes...thats true was looking on the network capabilities too as I do not want to spend more than $300 on a receiver... and was thinking this must be denon 1913 or above....
BTW, if you are looking for 1712 for this price, then you are lucky you can buy AVR1712 (new)for $199 + tax....better than refurb price you are looking for....
frys has this for $199 + tax, you can PM this at Best Buy if you dont have Frys near you...and it can be easily done...as per my past experience...
But does anyone yet know what the brand/model number of the $149.99 receiver is this week? Fry's is too far to drive on a "maybe", and it's such a pain to get through the phone and get any info, I prefer to find out on SD.
What do you want the receiver to do? how will it be used?
As a simple 5.1 movie and gaming setup in a small bedroom. I have a mixture of 6 and 8 ohm speakers. I recently got the Sony STR-DH520 for $169 from Fry's, but I could return it and get the Denon AVR-1312 if it's substantially better for $19 less. On the surface I don't notice any substantial differences in the product descriptions and user comments on Amazon, but I'm not an audiophile.
