Better to buy at costco- this is regular price
Costco has satisfaction return policy, plus extra year warranty if you buy it with their AMEX. Occasionally, Costco's price has been $119 ($10 instant coupon), although $129 as I write this today. Drive is fine and you can easily extract from case. I have 3 of these from Costco and their returns policy & warranty peace of mind. No reason to post this as a "Deal"- OP your bad. drive inside is Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6822148844 take off the plastic band that wraps around the two sides in a L shape the seagate logo on it. Then pull the two sides apart, I used pliers for this. Pull on the pliers instead of squeezing. You want to separate the 2 sides then inside you will notice the hard drive in a metal casing. Just pull the hard drive with the metal casing out. Its only held in by rubber gromets. Take off the rubber gromets, underneat the gromets, you will find screws that will remove the hard drive from the metal casing. Connect it internally to your pc. Start computer you'll only see 277 gb or 377 gb or somewhere around 300. i forget to fix, goto START MENU > right click on MY COMPUTER > MANAGE > click on DISK MANAGEMENT > wait for it to load you should see your drive split into 2 partitions. Delete the smaller partition by right clicking and DELETE VOLUME Then right click on the corresponding DISK #, and click CONVERT TO GPT DISK. Wait several hours I've gotten upto 100MB/s + speeds from transfering files to this drive from other crappier drives via my SATA II motherboard Last edited by chris83190; 09-28-2012 at 11:34 AM.. |

If they were the dame price I'd go local unless you can get away with no tax. Doesn't use of AE card extend the warranty?? Last edited by rayrayz; 09-28-2012 at 11:21 AM.. OPEN your Wallet and they will Come ![]() |
