Despite this not being the lowest price ever available, consider that an Asus i5 3210 first showed up at Best Buy at the beginning of Fall (August) for $480. So compared to that and since that deal is discontinued from BB, this is still an ok deal. Anything in the $400-$500 range is worth spending for an Intel 3rd gen i5 laptop imo...esp if one was in a rush to buy today.

That takes off $20 from the purchase price. You could also stack a $10 off $100 coupon if you have a previous order #. THREAD That still only makes this an average deal, when it was up to $70 cheaper a few weeks ago. |

As for HP reliability, I think they've gotten much better on the new Dv6 and Dv7s, at least the current and last-gen models (6000 and 7000 series). It's just more well designed and has less heat problems, and solid build-quality. Asus on the other hand, has absolutely terrible quality control. Especially with tablets... just look at how many people have issues with the Transformers. I actually got a model similar to the one I linked for $250 (an obvious price-mistake), and it had a BD-R/DVD Burner combo drive + 1 TB hard drive. They shipped it without a question.
