Acer Iconia A200 16gb $199 NEW at Gamestop, FS or store pickup

The Kev Master thinks this deal went so fast it didn't even have time to make the FP.

He did some checking and the last deal that hit FP was for the same price but had only 8gb instead of 16gb.

He would like to point out to those who were TCing that the proof is in the pudding.

Yep, I was ready to buy at this price as soon as I saw it. I neeed a tablet. But $200 for a new name brand 10" tablet is the price point I'm looking for.

I have a crappy old 7 inch Coby Kyros running Gingerbread 2.3. You know what's funny? It almost entirely suits my purposes: web surfing, youtube and light gaming. Where it falls short is size...comfortably reading textbooks full of diagrams requires a larger tablet. A 10.1 Tegra 2 tablet with ICS represents not only a huge jump up in size but also in power.

Outside of videophiles, gamers, fanboys and specwhores most people don't need the latest and greatest. These namebrand and now "outdated" Tegra 2 based tabs which are beginning to flood the market at low prices are (mostly) great products that will serve the needs of most people for at least a few years.

Got my A200 for $159+ (refurb/it is same as Brand New) mine.

It can handle anything I throw at it, as long as it is compatible, came with ICS 4.0xx loaded, no fingerprints, no scratches, no sign of the case being opened (as many early models did the "sleep of death", if you turned then off when they were charging).

They only had to be opened & the battery connection off/on & they were good as new, Acer must have got a ton of them back.

I was able to have one put on hold at a local store. Will pick up tomorrow. Thanks!

that's exactuly how i feel about those tablets vs N7. i own a galaxy nexus so N7 is pointless, while i'm still looking for a 7-10 tablet with microSD, hdmi, and so-so processor. quadcore is meaning if i only intend to use it as media player and webbrowser without any gaming. i got psp/360/etc for gaming purpose only anyway.

I waited for the Nexus release, passed on the cloud based idea. Got me a 10" tabby for $200 rooted it custom rom added a sd card & it runs great for everything I need it to do.
For someone shopping for a 10" tab this sounded like a good opt. Unless your a fanboy on either side

The Kev Master loves his Nexus 7 but for an Acer with a 10.1" screen and 16gbs of memory at $200, it can't be beat.

He also agrees that this is great for most people but the smoothness of the quad core and Jelly Bean OS also cannot be denied.

FYI, overclock the a200 and put jelly bean on it and it's just as smooth.

I have never used an acer a200. Is it decent enough for pdf textbook viewing? Maybe surfing slickdeals website effectively?

I have a nook color and an HP touchpad and I never looked back the only way I will upgrade my Touchpad or my nook is if the supposed bezel-less android tablets start coming out. I am really looking for light weight high battery life. Until then I will have OaT's ICs rom on my touchpad, and MROM on my nook.
