Questions (experts, please contribute - no flaming):
1. 7850 1gb vs. 7850 2gb - who needs 2gb? -only those above 1080p resolution or those who want to crank up AA. below 1080p, you don't need the extra VRAM

2. OC vs. non-OC versions - no difference if you want to overclock.

3. Sapphire vs. other brands - sapphire works pretty well, over on Overclock.net, the sapphire 7950's vaporx dualx or the 950mhz edition are the only 7950's recommended. too bad they have a price premium.

4. Sapphire rebate reputation? good

5. 7850 vs. GTX 480/570/660 (non-Ti) - 7850 performs above gtx 580 levels if overclocked. aka better than 480. 660? not sure. 1gb, same price, take the 660. i think in 80% of scenarios i'd go with the 7850.

But it would be useful for a few games at even lower resolutions than that as well. uhh no.. spend the extra $10 AR and get the 2gb model. Not that great of a deal.
