You right, the $50 isn't working any more, it's now only $40 off. And the MC website is not working properly, esp. for the Cambridge, MA store. The cart refuses to show the discount, but it's still being advertised.....$40 off a compatible motherboard with the 3570k, 3770k, and the i3 2550. Look in the Nov. flyer, linked on MC's main page.

sure, but a lot of people do. i used to live in phoenix, only had a fry's, now that i'm in boston i appreciate having an MC. and to be honest, i don't want to sort MC deals by myself, its nice that fellow SDers will filter out the deals for us.

also, i'm sure a few of us wouldn't mind helping out a fellow SDer for like $5...but people on SD are so frugal that they wouldn't even do that.

I have a Phenom II x2 560 (3.3ghz) - it uses about 80 watts at idle. 120 watts at full load.
I have a couple G540 (2.5ghz), G550 (2.6ghz) HTPC's - they uses 30-35 watts at idle. 50 watts at full load.

based on benchmarks, the Celeron CPU's are faster by quite a bit.

these CPU's are the best bang for your buck out there IMO. they run 1080p video with no issues, low power consumption, and low heat.

Been waiting to grab a Celeron for a computer I'm building with my daughter and saw this.
Luckily I'm travelling for work tomorrow and will be near a MicroCenter so I grabbed one.

Excellent chip! This is a good price as I pick these up for corporate builds at around $45-50 from newegg. Very close to a Core i3 chip for most tasks.. Blows away everything even close to it in price.

I bought this several weeks ago but need another. Anyone know how MC tracks the 1 per household agreement? Does it reset after a certain period of time?
