u act as if this is a budget board. But there are plenty of budget boards to suit your criticisms. Look it up, before you make conclusions. I'm curious as to what will fit your needs, and at what price? Last edited by anywho; 10-01-2012 at 06:29 PM.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() you could spend the same $100 or so on upgrading from i3 to i5, or i5 to i7, get the same performance bump for the money, and not have to bother with the time/effort/potential instability issues as overclocking the lesser cpu on a higher end board. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() I've OC'd on everything from an IP35-E to an SR-2. You have no idea what you're talking about if you think it takes $150 to buy a reliable OC board. Rather than paying attention to the flashy stickers on the box and catering your buying to that (and the price tag) I suggest you become a little more open minded otherwise you're going to run out of money real quick buying up all the RoG stuff.

When I first put the system together the cheapest HPTX case was $1k so I built my own test bench using $20 worth of stuff at Lowes. Then I had 12GB DDR3 1333. I put a guide to the whole project in the DC subforum of [H] because I was a member of the [H]orde/Team33. Eventually it was put into a modded Lian Li PC-A77FB that I bought from Microcenter for $151 [hardforum.com]. Then I had 12GB DDR3 2000. Pair of L5640's OC'd to 3.6 (6c/12t each), GTX 260 SLI. I put the details on this mod in the DC subforum at [H] as well. I quit Folding@home when our electric bill hit $300, sold it and downgraded to what I have now. (2600K, P8P67, 16GB DDR3, 6950 2GB) In the interest of keeping this thread on topic this will be my last OT post.
