I was hoping they drop the price down to $6.49 like they did in May (see the below threads). I would like but don't need the set so the $1 difference is hold me back.

The last set you'll ever need to buy. Because they are so well made? No. They corrode and the springs give out eventually like all the rest. However, with the Craftsman guarantee they replace this set free every couple of years when you bring it back to the store, no receipt required. I've hung onto the packaging they come attached to, just in case, but they've given me no hassle at all the 2 times I've replaced mine!

I purchased this set last year, and literally had to hammer the pistol-grip nozzle into pieces to get it off the hose. I'm not sure if applying anti-sieze before attaching would address the issue, but is it worth the few bucks you save to take that risk?
For me, nope. The price is attractive, but if the product is crap then it isn't a good value. |

Altho' the price is good, I would use brass next time! I still have the other 2 nozzles unused. If I will get to use them I will definitely use a teflon tape and reapply it once a year. |

Antiseize should be used if you are just going to leave the thing on all year round since– as clearly stated– this is made out of aluminum. Removing the nozzle if its going to be stored over the winter (for us in the colder climates) is definitely the correct thing to do.
Search galvanic corrosion for anyone who hasn't heard of this before. |

Bought this set at a similar sale. It did not last long (broke after a few months of light use). Too bad I did not know about the free replacement policy. But I have been using a brass nozzle similar to this one (although I don't remember if bought at amazon or Sears) for about the same price, and it was rock solid: http://www.amazon.com/Gilmour-528...000XTMG8W/
