I should have been more specific in my above post concerning replacing the batteries in my cordless phones. I switched from the supplied Ni-MH (Nickle-Metal-Hydride) AAA rechargeable batteries to the Sanyo pre-charged, LSD (low-self-discharged) Eneloops.

In no way should you try to re-charge disposable heavy duty, or disposable alkaline batteries.

You can recharge, regular disposable batteries, but the results are very unpredictable depending on the rate of charge and duration. It may cause overheating, leaking and also risk of an electrical fire.

If you do not know these factors, I would not take the chance, as the savings don't outweigh the risk you take in doing so.

Yes. It will. I did the same when the battery of 3 Panny handsets died. Duracell per charged are going strong more than a year. When I was out of country for two months, the batteries retained the charge and were working fine even though the charger was unplugged for two months..

Yea, this sucks. Subscribe and save does not available for the AA. Need these as I found some of the crappy Rayovac4.0 ones I have that are bad.
