Looks like a good deal. But MSI is very sketchy with rebates.

Is this laptop reliable? Is Adorama customer support easy to deal with?

I have the MSI GE60 model. Absolutely love it. I paid $1,100 for it, but got a free Xbox about 2-3 months ago. I was going to get this model, but I figured 15.6" was better for portability. Besides the flaky wireless, I love this laptop. If MSI doesn't fix this wireless issue I'll see if I can change it out myself and get a better card.

well bro ge70 is 17.3" and the y580 is 15.6" hence the battery life difference
and who cares about battery life when they are buying a 17 inch
gaming laptop as a desktop replacement yo...

and keyboard is really personal preference it seems like...

Yeah MSI is known for having poor build quality on their laptops. But this is the lowest I've seen for a GTX 660M + i7-3610QM + 1920x1080. A great deal.

Their technical support is high school kids, who have no idea what they are talking about and seem to have been trained to interrogate you and find any flaws in what you say in order to say it is your fault and reject your warranty claim. One among the worst tech support I have ever seen. If you have made up you mind on the build quality as it was mentioned by other members and still want to buy it, I'd suggest you buy 3rd party warranty plan.

FLD how can you back up your statement ?

How does this compare to the Asus G75? The specs are more or less the same, but this MSI costs hundreds less. Is the cooling system pretty reliable? The G75 has 2 separate fans, but this only seems to have one... but does it really matter at all? Any advice would be much appreciated.

@fld : i doubt you ever own any MSI product

they are one of low cost notebook mnfctrs which their barebone product often been resale and rebranded.
