Looking to invest a little in stocks
I want to invest a few grand in the stock market. I had some stocks before, but sold them (just in time, too!) When I picked those companies' stocks, it was a crapshoot.
I want to have fun with the stocks, but I don't know how to pick them. I'm sure this will get me some nasty comments, but.....I want to invest in safe companies. What I mean by that is, there's a pretty strong chance that Apple isn't going bankrupt in the next year. Or Google. Or Exxon. You get the idea... This won't be long term. If I make a few bucks, then I'll probably sell.
1. Should I invest in something like Apple, where I can only get 2-3 shares? Or something "cheaper" where I get more shares?
2. How should I decide in what companies to invest in? I tend to look at trends and what other people are investing in...
Thank you
