blakeh was originally one of the ones ringing the bell on the hotspot sucking bandwidth but he admitted it was user error (which I appreciate him discovering/admitting).

To track useage on a PC, you can use the Performance Monitor in the Task Manager.
1. Start Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Delete)
2. Select the Network tab
3. Select View Menu->Select Columns
4. Check Bytes (total of Bytes Sent and Received)
Leave the Task Manager on and note the Total Bytes for the day or session.
Add that to the total from your FreedonPop account home page.

On an Android device, download this app: Network Speed (there are probably others, as well)
Open the app and select menu, then select Totals. There is a daily and a monthly total for each network type.
See eth0 for wifi totals.

A single speedtest on (www.speedtest.net) took over 10MB, so there is your minimum.

I now have two devioces, a hotspot and a USB stick, so I have just under 2GB of 4G to use each month. And the speeds are great.

How long did it take them to send you the shipping email? I ordered on 10/6 and have not gotten another email except my password one.

Got the shipping email about a day later but I got shipping notification alert in my freedompop home page much earlier (within a few hours of signing up).

Neat idea, but since they use Sprint Wimax coverage is very limited.

I got charged 30 dollars for using 1.5GB in 15 minutes. What a scam. I probably used 20MB just to test it out

got mine delivered from fedex today and been using it ever since..omg I love this little thing! its so freakin cute and small and works like a charm in downtown Raleigh..beware that it won't work out in rural areas though, especially if you barely get cell phone signal so be reasonable with your expectations.

I find it hard to believe freedompop, which has been covered by all major tech news outlets is out to scam people.
