Virgin Mobile uses the same Clear Wimax network as FreedomPop. I've traveled to Atlanta plenty this last year with my Clear 3G/4G Hotspot (I'm on an old unlimited Wimax + 5GB 3G of data plan) and I get decent coverage with Wimax around town. However, there are many instances where I cannot get Wimax signal and drop down to 3G speeds. Yes 3G speeds are lacking quite a lot but it's better than having nothing. |

Does anyone know if the usb stick works directly with a USB OTG adapter with an android phone?
If so I will order this immediately! Edit: appears they have the $90 hotspot but it seems bulky. Last edited by MeatCatalog; 10-01-2012 at 01:02 AM.. Great rebate Companies:
Patriot Memory (4myrebate.com): 6 Weeks Tiger Direct (4myrebate): 3 weeks Rain-X (in house): 3 weeks BAD BAD MAIL IN REBATE COMPANIES: Xigmatek 26 weeks, 14 emails, 2 phone calls (finally received) NZXT 21 weeks, 4 phone calls. Check that was finally received was dated 2 months earlier with a 90 day expiration on it, giving me about 25 days to cash it. Shady shady shady. |

But not risking much with this deal but maybe $10 and some time, so it's worth a shot. |

http://venturebeat.com/2012/09/30...s:dsc02860 It does appear to be pretty damn tiny. Only downside is I'll have yet another device to keep charged. |

what kind of download/upload speeds can i expect by using the hotspot? i'm not really familiar with 3G/4G lingo. is it comparable to residential use internet services through companies like charter, time warner, or verizon fios?
also, i'm assuming that if i am happy with the free service, i can always upgrade to one of the paid plans at a later time. is this the case? thanks |
