Comcast says my (working) account is inactive

I hope I'm not posting in the wrong thread, I figured there might be someone here that can help me figure this out. I ordered comcast xfinity service a little over a month ago, they never sent me a bill and i figured it might be because I chose paperless billing or whatever. So I finally decide to see what's up and try to log in and can't. I lookup my account using ssn and address and the system can't find it. I start chatting with customer support and they tell me my service shows as inactive since the day I ordered the service to be connected??? The rep says I don't owe them any $$$. Here's the thing though, my internet is working just fine Here's my question... is there any harm in not doing anything about this situation?

P.S Not sure if this is relevant, I bought a cable modem myself and called them to get it registered in their system. I'm not using any of their equipment.

Nothing is free, someone is getting billed. Did you move into a new place? If that's the case, maybe it's still under the previous user's account or something?

I'd call them directly to find out what is going on.
