An Update: I went with ACM membership. Windows 7 & 8 are available. Visio 2013, Project 2013, Access 2013. Office is only 2007. Download was seamless and took me 2 days to get DreamSpark account. Quite happy with the purchase.
Far as I can tell, Win 8 is still not available through IEEE. You can actually view the software catalog without a membership, and I didn't see it there. So short of any actual members verifying this, I'm thinking it's still dead.
I signed up back in October - ACM membership. I use Windows 8 as one of my primary OS, to run apps only available under MS Windows. At the time I bagged 5 licenses of Windows 8. Solid OS and I'm not exactly fond of M$. I use Ubuntu, Debian 7 (the greatest) and Smashbang linux (based on Debian). I logged into ACM then Dreamspark, and found that my Dreamspark account was disabled! It appears that they closed some loopholes.
I just used/activated another Win8 license - Hyper-V virtual machine under the Windows 8, and it worked. Was able to activate.
Has anyone had luck getting their Dreamspark back? Is there any downside to trying to get it back? I'd hate for them to disable my other keys. There's some sh%t I still want from Dreamspark
I am going to register for the ACM membership for $42. Can you guys confirm if Windows 8 is available for download?
I just finished signing up and got the options to DL several different OS. They included Win 8, Win 7, Vista & XP. I only opted for Win 7, so thats all the info I can give atm. Currently in the process of downloading the ISO.
